Software Firmware Engineer

 

Location:  Milwaukee, WI

Wage:  Based on experience

 

 

Description:
Due to the growth of their business, our client is consistently developing new product and control interfaces that make them more user friendly. The person in this role will be working with a large hardware manufacturer to design, develop, document and support large-scale enterprise software solutions, which includes C/C++, Web and JAVA components that interact with hardware through serial and USB connections.
 

 

Skills and Requirements:

  • Essential Skills:

    • Strong understanding of TCP/IP

    • Familiar with SNMP and SNMP management tools such as HP Overview

    • Excellent problem solving skills

    • Strong teamwork skills

    • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time

    • Ability to work within defined timeframes

    • Effective written and oral communications skills

    • Experience and ability to interact with clients

  • Essential Requirements:

    • Demonstrated extensive knowledge of C/C++, MFC, and Java

    • Minimum 5 years experience in multi-threaded application development

    • Experience in supporting full product life cycles

    • Experience developing with Microsoft Visual Studio

    • Experience developing cross-platform applications such as Windows, Linux and Embedded

    • Experience writing Windows services (console interface)

  • Preferred Skills:

    • Sockets

    • Ethernet

    • SNMP (v ½ and v3)

    • RS232

    • USB

    • HTML

    • XML

    • JavaScript

    • SQL

    • Radius

    • Unicode

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
